Feature and Follow

Feature and Follow is a feature from Parajunkee and Alison Can Read

Before blogging (dark times people!) how would you find out about new books or did you?

Since I opened the first book on my Mom's bookshelf I haven't stop reading.  So I guess that during those dark times I had my bookish news at my Mom's bookshelf.  At high school, I used to browse around until I could find something with good synopsis and interesting cover.  I read a lot of Isabelle Allende from the school's library.  During that era of the dark times, magical realism was essential.

  1. Our school library was sorely lacking. It's nice to hear some people have it better than our tiny school district! New follower on Bloglovin :)

  5. I did this too. Most of the books I read as a child and teen used to belong to my Mum. Then later I found them through school and friends, until eventually I stumbled across Goodreads and book blogs. I'm a new GFC follower.

  6. Tracy,
I had a really good experience with my school library. I used to visit the library a lot. Sadly, now fewer kids visit their libraries .

  7. GL,
I love book fairs. Great books and everything bookish under the same roof.
Isabel Allende is a fantastic author. Her writing is amazing. Her work in House of Spirits is incomparable.

  8. Tizzy,

I hope my daughters do the same and enjoy reading my books. For now my oldest have chosen my husband's comics.
