My husband visits IGN frequently. This is a great site where you can read about gaming, movies, tv and tech. Well, today he found a teaser trailer for The Host at IGN. This movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's book will have Saoire Ronan as the lead and will be directed by Andrew Niccol. Andre Niccol has really good movies on his filmography: The Terminal, The Truman Show and Gattaca. Also, he directed In Time, which I review on this blog (view my review).
This is just a teaser and looks kind of monotone but, it is a promise for all of us who enjoyed this book (The Host's book review) and want to see a movie. This video is also available at IMDb. Here you can watch videos related to Meyer's work.
This is a wonderful book and definitively I'll be waiting for this movie.

This week Follow Friday asks: I like unique names for characters and am looking forward to coming up with some when I start writing. What...
Totally agree with the monotone comment. I saw this the other day and have to say I'm pretty upset with how the eyes look. Although I love the book so I'm still looking forward to the movie!
ReplyDeleteThe eyes doesn't show the Soul, they look dead.
DeleteExactly! I know they're meant to stand out and be noticeable but they just look odd.
DeleteOnce there's some movement and facial expression maybe there will be some emotion.
I was a little disappointed in the trailer actually. But that's what you expect from a movie that's not coming out for a year. It's a better way to introduce newcomers to the book/movie than people who are familiar with it, IMO. There's hardly any film content. Just the eyes.
ReplyDeleteI hope the final result is better than this, after all is just a teaser.
