Rotten Tomatoes IMDb
*It contains spoilers*
One night Anna is having a girl's night out. While walking to her house she sees a man killing a woman. She struggles trying to defend herself - been now the only witness- but falls from a bridge hitting her head. As result, she develops "face blindness"; now anyone she looks at, has a changing face. Anna has to learn to survive, by keeping attention to details she sees on people, so she can identify them, and that way hopefully identify the killer.
About the Movie
Anna's mind gets more confuse as the movie progresses. Soon, the details she uses to keep a notion of the people surrounding her , are used to entrap her. The movie has good pacing. It establishes a consistent climate and has adequate characters to protagonist the story.
Anna's "face blindness" is a cuirasse to protect herself from a traumatic event. Anna learned to handle it, she continued living and found and anchor to keep herself afloat.
Do I like the character?
But of course. She showed braveness and self-assurance by encouraging herself to deal with a condition that probably will accompany her for the rest of her existence.
I believed the character as portrayed by Milla Jovovich. Well, well done!
And... what about the surprise element, the unexpected?
The movie lost a star for one reason. Soon in the movie I determined the real culprit, to me it was obvious. But, it didn't matter, the movie was good and kept me interested.
