(Of course, a book should have BOTH, but…)
Good writing or good story... That is the question...
Good story and good grammar & syntax are relevant to book writing. To me is also important and relevant to have a good captivating cover, for that is how I fall in love with the infinite possibilities that a story can offer. But once I open that book, the story has to be unique, has to create a world of their own. To consider a book good, I need to feel drawn to it. When I'm enjoying a book I'll think about it during the day, while I'm doing other activities (like working: no money no new books) and my doppelganger obsess reader hasn't taken control. But when a book has a great story, the doppelganger highjacks, and I think and think about the story, about characters; as if a continuous movie has been playing in my head. I wanna read the book and I want to blog and write about it everywhere, so other people can have a good reading time.

If the story is that good I can even forgive a little punctuation error here and there. I can think of it...let's see... as too much muse flowing at once, and little time to think about commas and hyphens.
