Top Ten Books To Read in One Day

Weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish
We all have those books perfect for the bookish marathoner in us.  What is a bookish marathoner? you say!  Well, it's the reader who spends long hours reading the same book just to find out what happened.  This reader has big questions that never he/she can leave unanswered like: What will happen with humanity? Did she escaped? Do they love each other?  Who did she chose?  Is there a preview of second book at the end of the book?

That's who we are.  We keep reading.  We read while doing any chore, we read while waiting for an appointment, we always read.  Some weird days we can read more, a lot more, so we look for that book we can't wait to read.  Once the book is on our hands, the marathon has begun.  We make some stops, maybe to drink some juice or have a snack and we keep going until the end of the book is so clear to us that we are reaching the final pages.  There is no sunlight anymore, but a little lamp by the bed to end those final words... The End.   Then, you turn the page and a promotion for the next book appears.  That will be hunting you forever, or until you get your hands on that book( whatever comes first).

Here is my Top Ten:

  1. The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan
  2. A Stir of Echoes by Richard Matheson
  3. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  4. Lamb by Christopher Moore
  5. Any book from the Southern Vampires Series/ Sookie Stackhouse
  6. Breadfruit by Celestine Hitiura - if you are looking for something nice and relaxing to read.
  7. Any book from Percy & The Olympians series
  8. The Messenger by Lois Lowry
  9. Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt
  10. Blackwood Farm by Anne Rice
What's your top ten?  Are you a bookish marathoner?  Let me know with your comments.
